Dr Josefine Hirschfeld undertakes research in the fields of oral immunology and oral microbiology at the Birmingham Dental Hospital. Her research focus are the innate and environmental causes of periodontitis and the role of neutrophil granulocytes therein. She also is a Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, teaches BDS students and supervises several PhD students.
